Heyo awesome folks, these days the market is filled with different smartphones from different brands, the problem is selecting the right one for you. Remember switching from one device to another can be a shock for example when I bought my Nokia Lumia 520 I was not used to data charges since BIS really made me comfortable. So the first few days was a headache no jokes haha.
Remember each device may differ firstly choosing a Samsung over an iPhone or any other device may come with its own perks and vice versa, however before purchasing smartphone try to find out the specs and features of the phone so that you know for what you are paying for (there are some good websites that help you do this such as http://www.gsmarena.com/ ). Some mobile stores allow you to use in store demos which is really useful since you can determine whether or not you like the device, for an instance you may like a certain smartphone however after purchasing it you may regret it once you fully discover the phone or get tired of its features.
Like I mentioned earlier if you switching from once device to another try to find out what are the cons so that you will not face any nasty surprises for example some people may think that BlackBerry 10 devices come with BIS however this is not true! Lastly always trust your gut feeling and judgement do not make hasty decisions.

Heyo folks, BlackBerry Messenger is now available for iOS and Android, this is pretty cool however the question we have to got ask is what does this mean for BlackBerry? Sure we can now all chat on BBM however porting this messenger to other devices also means that BBM has lost its exclusiveness, people now a reason to pick another device over a BlackBerry. None the less what does this also mean for Whatsapp? or other messenger applications, I guess we will find these answers in the not so distant future, until then happy pinging!

Heyo awesome folks, remember that post a while back about BlackBerry were considering selling? Well it may just happen, have a look at this article and decide for yourself. Do note that this has been quoted from Yahoo:
Canadian smartphone manufacturer Blackberry has agreed in principle to sell the company to a consortium led by Fairfax Financial.
Blackberry said Fairfax, its largest shareholder, offered over 3.6 billion euros.
It has been a hectic few days for Blackberry. On Friday it announced job cuts, losses of 1 billion US dollars and a shift in corporate strategy away from individual consumers.
Ken Wong is a business professor at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada: “I think this option has been known to them for a long time, and I think what really precipitated them taking this action because, it is not something they wanted to do. It was the news of the billion dollar lose this quarter, all of the layoffs, and the massive depreciation in stock prices.”
The company’s decline has been rapid in a fast moving industry. It has seen its share of the global market fall from 17 percent in 2010 to an estimated 3 percent this year.
Poor sales of its new Z and Q 10 handsets indicated that Blackberry would never reclaim its slice of the pie.
Blackberry says it will continue to explore other options while negotiations with Fairfax continue.
Heyo awesome folks, Nokia will be releasing software update entitled Amber. The update will be available for Nokia Lumia 920, 820, 720, 620, 520, 928, 822, 521 and 810. Features include: Better camera software, the Nokia glance screen (not available for the 520), FM radio and flip it. Just flip your phone face down it you want to ignore an incoming call how awesome is that, no more pressing buttons.
updates will be rolling out in August and September.
Heyo awesome folks, for those of you that have not heard the news yet….. Well their is a possiblility that BlackBerry could sell itself. Here is the breakdown. As quoted.
Struggling smartphone maker BlackBerry said Monday it is examining “strategic alternatives,” including the possibility of selling off the firm.
The Canadian firm said it had formed a committee to consider “possible joint ventures, strategic partnerships or alliances, a sale of the company or other possible transactions.”
The announcement comes with BlackBerry marginalized in a smartphone market dominated by makers using the Google Android operating system and by Apple’s iPhone.
A statement issued by BlackBerry said the board’s committee would seek ways “to enhance value and increase scale” to help deploy its products based on the new BlackBerry 10 platform.
“We continue to see compelling long-term opportunities for BlackBerry 10, we have exceptional technology that customers are embracing, we have a strong balance sheet and we are pleased with the progress that has been made in our transition,” said president and chief executive Thorsten Heins.
The special committee of the board includes Heins, Barbara Stymiest, Richard Lynch and Bert Nordberg, and will be chaired by Timothy Dattels.
“During the past year, management and the Board have been focused on launching the BlackBerry 10 platform and BES 10, establishing a strong financial position, and evaluating the best approach to delivering long-term value for customers and shareholders,” said Dattels.
“Given the importance and strength of our technology, and the evolving industry and competitive landscape, we believe that now is the right time to explore strategic alternatives.”
Prem Watsa, chairman and CEO of Fairfax Financial, said he would resign from the board due to potential conflicts that may arise during the process. Fairfax Financial is the largest BlackBerry shareholder.
A survey by IDC found BlackBerry’s global market share had slipped to 3.7% in the second quarter, the lowest since tracking began, while Android accounted for nearly 80%.
While BlackBerry helped create a culture of mobile users who were glued to the company’s smartphones, many of those customers have since moved to Apple or other smartphone makers such as Samsung, mainly using Android.
In a turnaround bid, the company unveiled its new platform on January 30, as it dropped the corporate name Research in Motion to rebrand as BlackBerry, but staggered sales launches across regions.
The Z10 was only launched in the key US market in March while the Z10 followed after the end of the first quarter.
Let hope BlackBerry comes out on top!!!
